Accusation or Conviction?

Ptr. Jess Erasquin · Lord's Day Celebration · October 4, 2026

Satan's accusations and the Holy Spirit's conviction can both make us feel guilty, yet they differ in origin, purpose and outcome. Learning to tell them apart is part of spiritual maturity.

What we believe

We hold to the historic Christian faith: one God, revealed in Scripture, who saves sinners by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Ilagan Christian Church is a congregation of families and individuals in the City of Ilagan. We are not a large church, and we are not trying to be an event. We read the Bible together, sing, pray, share the Lord’s Table, and then go back to our work on Monday as people who belong to Christ and to each other.

We are a confessional Reformed church, which in plain terms means two things. We think the Bible is clear enough to be trusted and hard enough to be worth working at — so we preach through whole books rather than picking a topic for the week. And we have written down what we believe, in the Westminster Confession and Catechisms, so that you can read it before you commit to anything and hold us to it afterwards.

The rest of the week

A church is not only a Sunday.

Most of what holds a congregation together happens on the other six days — in kitchens, over coffee, on the way home, and in small rooms where people read a chapter and tell each other the truth. These are the ways in.

Ministries

Children on Saturday morning, youth on Friday evening, young adults and the men’s and ladies’ fellowship each month, and the work our outreach does in the barangays around us.

Courses

Written lessons you can work through at your own pace, with questions to answer and somebody to mark them — including the membership class, if you are thinking about joining.

Prayer

Send a request and the pastors will pray for it. You do not have to be a member, you do not have to explain yourself, and it goes to nobody else.

Come this Sunday.

Worship begins at 9:00 am in the City of Ilagan, Isabela. Bring your children; bring your questions. Nobody will ask you to stand up or introduce yourself, and nobody will ask you for anything.

Come at 8:45 if you would like time to find a seat. Wear what you own. Stay for coffee afterwards, or slip out — both are ordinary here.
