Knowing God

Summary

Paul opens by blessing God, who has blessed believers with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Before the foundation of the world, God chose His people to be holy and blameless, predestining them to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace freely given in the Beloved.

The sermon connects this to the truth that there is salvation in no other name, and calls believers to put off their old way of life, to be renewed in the spirit of their minds, and to put on the new self created in God’s likeness, in true righteousness and holiness.
