God Is Light

← All sermons

Summary

The study begins with the message John announced: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. He is the Father of lights, the source of every good gift. That light came into the world in Jesus Christ, who said He is the light of the world and the light of life. He appeared to take away sins and to destroy the works of the devil, and the light dawned on those who sat in darkness.

Yet people loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. Those who have come to the light are now called to shine, letting their good works glorify the Father, and to walk in the light in true fellowship with Him and with one another, cleansed by the blood of Jesus. As a people for God’s own possession they proclaim His excellencies and walk as children of light.
