When Jesus asked His disciples who people said He was, the answers varied: John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, one of the prophets. But when He asked who they said He was, Peter confessed Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God, a truth not revealed by man but by the Father. The sermon traces this confession through Jesus’ incarnation, sinlessness, righteousness, and works, and into His exaltation, where God has given Him the name above every name and every knee will bow to confess Him as Lord.
On the occasion of the church’s 24th anniversary, the message calls believers to stand firm in this Christ, rooted and built up in Him, holding fast to the true knowledge of God found in Him alone rather than being carried away by empty philosophy or human tradition.
